Start With the Decisions Your Review Must Support
For counsel handling a New York, New Jersey or Connecticut matter, review starts with the issues, custodians, confidentiality requirements and production specification. GDF uses GoldFynch for document review and helps the team organize collected material around that plan. Tell us whether you have a few source exports, an existing document set or a delivery deadline approaching.
Search, Tag and Review Collected Documents
GoldFynch provides document viewing, search, tags, notes and review sets. These functions help reviewers group responsive material, follow attachments and record review decisions. GDF helps plan the working structure and the technical handling of the agreed files.
Counsel sets responsiveness, privilege and confidentiality decisions. Search results are a way to find and organize material; a search alone does not establish that every relevant document has been found. We discuss representative checking and exceptions within the review plan.
Prepare Redactions and an Agreed Production
GoldFynch supports redaction and production workflows, including PDF, image, native or mixed output choices. The appropriate format, numbering, metadata and treatment of redacted files depend on the production specification. We check the actual output and reported exceptions before the agreed handoff.
Preview markings and final redactions are different. A marked review copy is not sufficient evidence that sensitive content has been removed from a deliverable. We confirm final settings and review the resulting package, including extracted text and relevant native-file handling.
Keep Source Collection Separate From Platform Import
Uploading a file to GoldFynch is not the same as collecting its source. eDiscovery Collections, Mobile Device Collections and Social Media Collections address source access and preservation. The import plan records provenance and identifies unsupported, encrypted or failed items for a decision.
A messaging export, website capture or specialist file may need preparation before it can be reviewed usefully. We confirm supported handling and any conversion first. We do not imply that this workspace can natively process every phone extraction, cloud account or application format.
Agree on Access, Cost and the Handoff
Identify the retaining team, reviewers, authorized administrators and receiving counsel. Discuss the expected data volume and timetable together with any access restrictions or outside-provider requirements. Hosting, processing, review support and production scope are confirmed for the engagement. We confirm pricing, timing and workspace requirements in the engagement scope.
Where another platform or vendor is required, we discuss the handoff specification rather than claiming a certification or capability that has not been confirmed. Processing and Production addresses the processing and delivery work surrounding the review.
Prepare for the Scoping Call
Describe the material and review requirements here. The team will arrange a separate process to receive files or access details.
- What material is ready for review?
Identify source types, approximate volume, existing exports or load files, encryption and known processing exceptions. Arrange secure transfer after the initial discussion.
- Who will make review decisions?
Name counsel, reviewers and the person who can approve access. Explain privilege, confidentiality and any required separation of material.
- What must be delivered, and when?
Bring the proposed production specification, numbering and metadata needs, redaction requirements and deadlines.
